Shower glass looks cloudy when mineral deposits, soap residue, and body-care products remain on the surface. A short routine after each shower will not replace periodic cleaning, but it can slow buildup and make that cleaning much easier.
Clear the Glass Before Water Dries
Start while the enclosure is still wet. Run a clean squeegee from the top of the glass toward the bottom in overlapping strokes. Wipe the rubber blade with a cloth between passes if it picks up soap or hair. Finish with the door edges and the area near the handle.
Use a Consistent Direction
Working top to bottom keeps runoff moving toward the shower floor instead of across an area you already dried. A swivel head can help with curved edges or awkward corners. Keep the blade flat against the glass and use moderate pressure; forcing it can create skipping and streaks.
Dry the Hardware and Tracks
Use a separate microfiber cloth on metal trim, handles, and door tracks. These small areas hold water longer than the center of the panel. Do not use an abrasive pad on coated metal, and check the enclosure manufacturer’s guidance before applying any cleaner.
Clean the Tool, Too
Rinse the squeegee and scrubber after use, then hang or store them where air can circulate. Replace a blade that becomes nicked, stiff, or uneven. A damaged edge is more likely to leave lines of water behind.
The simplest routine is the one everyone in the home can follow: squeegee the glass, wipe the hardware, and leave the enclosure ventilated when appropriate.
